Catherine Marreiro, Ph.D., ABPP/CN
Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist (PSY26835)

Dr. Marreiro (PSY26835) is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California. She has over 13 years of experience in the assessment of neurological and psychological conditions affecting adolescents and adults. She is the Director of Neuropsychology at the Ray Dolby Brain Health Center (RDBHC) at California Pacific Medical Center, and the founder and President of Bay Area Cognitive Health. She is also president for the Northern California Neuropsychology Forum and member-at-large for Division VIII-Neuropsychology of California Psychological Association. Her clinical expertise extends across a wide range of lifespan conditions, including but not limited to, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, movement disorders, stroke, cancer, traumatic brain injury/concussion, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, sleep disorders, ADHD/Learning disorders, and mood problems.

Through her role as Senior Educational Consultant with Pearson Assessments, she provides educational seminars to professionals on a variety of Pearson Assessment products and neuropsychology topics, primarily to for training of raters for pharmaceutical clinical trials. She has been actively involved in supervision and mentorship of neuropsychology trainees. Within the Ray Dolby Brain Health Center, she has served as a supervisor for practicum, internship, and post-doctoral trainees. Dr. Marreiro remains actively involved in research through her role as Sub-Investigator for clinical drug trials targeting Alzheimer’s disease within the RDBHC as well as serving as a clinical rater for clinical trials through Elligo Health Research.

Dr. Marreiro earned her Master’s degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Arizona State University. Her Master’s thesis focused on the psychosocial and cultural predictors of maternal and infant health outcomes. Her dissertation work was recognized with an APA Dissertation Research Award and examined how stress impacts neuropsychological and physiological reactivity within young adults with Type 1 Diabetes.

Dr. Marreiro completed an APA approved pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL and her two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology within the Alzheimer’s Disease Center at the University of California, Davis.

Sarah Borish, Ph.D.,

Dr. Borish Raffaelli is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in neuropsychological assessment for adolescents and adults with cognitive complaints. She is the Director of Mental Health for Carbon Health and has served as an attending neuropsychologist at California Pacific Medical Center and Foresight Mental Health. Her clinical expertise is cognitive diagnoses across the lifespan including ADHD and learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries/ concussions, psychiatric illnesses, multiple sclerosis, memory and movement disorders, and cerebrovascular disease. She also teaches graduate students in assessment and provides individual psychotherapy.

Dr. Borish earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, and she subsequently served for two years in the National College Advising Corps helping students with the college application process. She then earned a Master’s degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and worked in the Dean of Students Office at the George Washington University. Finally, she earned her Ph.D. from Palo Alto University with an emphasis in neuropsychology and with specialized training in neuroendocrinology and women’s health from Stanford University. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at California Pacific Medical Center. Her primary research interests include the effects of mental illness and substance use on cognition, women’s mental health, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Sara Mason, PsyD (she/her) is a clinical neuropsychologist and licensed psychologist (PSY32210) with specialized training in the evaluation of individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical expertise spans a range of conditions that impact the brain, including neurodevelopmental syndromes (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, ADHD), brain injury, stroke, cancers, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, movement disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases, among others. Her approach to assessment not only values diagnostic accuracy but also prioritizes the development of personalized recommendations to help patients meaningfully address weaknesses and improve quality of life.

In addition to her work at BACH, Dr. Mason currently works as a neuropsychologist at California Pacific Medical Center’s Ray Dolby Brain Health Center. She is also the co-founder/president of the Queer Neuropsychological Society (QNS), a national organization dedicated to advancing accessible and affirming neuropsychological services for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Dr. Mason earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Vassar College and a master’s degree in clinical psychology/biopsychology from New York University, where she graduated with honors. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology, with an emphasis in neuropsychology, from the University of Denver. Her doctoral research examined the psychometrics of concussion assessment in Division I collegiate athletes, and her work as been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at professional conferences nation-wide.

She completed her pre-doctoral internship in the neuropsychology track at California Pacific Medical Center/Sutter Health. She then completed a two-year fellowship in lifespan neuropsychology at San Francisco Neuropsychology, PC, a private institute that specializes in serving patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
